March to Stop Federal Executions
An 82 Mile Journey Across Indiana
November 2000

For five days in November 2000, dozens of abolitionists marched 82 miles from Indianapolis to Terre Haute, Indiana, where the federal death row and execution facility is located. The Journey of Hope bus followed along, with evening programs led by murder victim families. The march was organized in anticipation of the first federal execution in nearly 40 years. Timothy McVeigh was killed seven months later in Terre Haute (return to the photo gallery page for links to those protests).
