to North Carolina's Death Rows and the Governor's Office
Good Friday 2006

The North Carolina annual Pilgrimage for Justice and Peace arrived in Raleigh on Good Friday 2006 and included stops at the Governor's office with the Catholic Bishop, the women's death row, and the men's death row and execution facility at Central Prison.

The Pilgrimage march through downtown Raleigh. The five day "Pilgrimage for Justice and Peace" arrives on its final day at the women's death row, where 4 women await execution in NC.

Patrick O'Neill, from the Catholic Worker in Garner, leads the gathering in a prayer outside the women's death row facility for NC. Cross: "Alto a la Pena de Muerte" Patrick O'Neill reads the names of those women on death row while standing outside the prison.

Catholic Bishop Joseph Gossman (now retired) from Raleigh leads a prayer against the death penalty outside the Governer's office at the State Capital.

Following the station of the cross at the Governer's office, the Pilgrimage continues through downtown.
