Death Penalty and Execution Protest Photos, Photographs and Images
The Execution of Samuel Flippen
Central Prison, Raleigh, North Carolina
August 17-18, 2006

At 2:00 a.m. on August 18, 2006, the state of North Carolina executed Sammy Flippen for the murder of Britnie Hutton. With dozens of Sammy's family members present through the evening's prayer services, march, and prison vigil, his innocence was proclaimed until death. Four protesters were arrested for trying to stop the execution shortly after midnight. Photos of that action are here. The photos below tell the story of the family that night.
